Spine cover is partially loosened and shows chipping at ends and joints. Gilt lettering and decoration on spine is faded. Gilt decoration on front cover is a slightly faded, though remains intact and clear. Text block has a crack near center, though contents remain tight. Hinges (internal) are good. Scattered light smudges and very light soiling. There is a poorly done, ink drawing, on the verso of the illustration titled "An Indian Chief. Contents are otherwise intact.
